We’re starting to gather...

We hope you are well and want to thank you for continuing to pray for us. There’s loads to update you with and plenty of things we would appreciate prayer for. The first thing to say is that after a summer of meeting together socially, getting to know one another better, on the 10th of September the core team began meeting more formally. We now meet every Sunday afternoon at 4pm to sing, pray and study the Bible together.

We have rented some rooms over the Old Rectory pub in the town centre. Over the summer several people have enquired about Christ Church Stockport and our hope is that as we begin to meet publicly we will be more easily accessible for those people to come and explore whether Christ Church Stockport is for them.

Please pray that the core team continue to be envisioned and built up together. Our prayer echoes Paul’s to the church in Philippi: “that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousnessthat comes through Jesus Christ - to the glory and praise of God.” Pray that we would continue grow in love toward each other, pray hard and plan well.

In other news...

The Cawseys have moved house. Whilst the majority of our core team live to the north of the town centre, Jon and the family have moved a couple of miles to the southern side of Stockport, to Great Moor. Please pray that this will open up new opportunities and contacts as we spread out over a larger geographical area.
