Growth: A report on the latest conference

AMiE Conference Mar2019 were delighted to run their latest conference on the theme of Growth, from 22nd to 23rd March 2019. Around 70 people gathered to hear the Bible taught, learn best ministry practice, encourage one another, and worship God. This was an increase from the 40 individuals who came to our previous event. Everything feels fragile, but it’s a joy to see God growing the number of individuals and churches who are keen to be part of our mission fellowship.

is a fellowship of faithful Anglican churches committed to gospel mission. We are passionate about planting, strengthening and partnering for the salvation of many and the glory of God. We run two conferences each year in order to refresh our minds, bodies and spirits as we seek to spread the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. These are vital opportunities for our fellowship to connect and support each other. We encourage married ministers to bring their wives along. This enables them to jointly experience the joy of this gospel conference. We were also joined by friends from Gafcon UK, and a number of individuals exploring either planting, being ordained with us, or pondering whether to lead their churches into our fellowship.

Dave Jensen

We were privileged to welcome Dave Jensen, Trevor Johnston and Melvin Tinker as guest speakers. Dave works as the Assistant Minister and Evangelist at All Saints‘ Church Belfast. He shared his immense wisdom on structures that enable gospel growth, and the imperative for evangelistic focus in local churches. Trevor is the Senior Minister of All Saints’ Belfast, and he taught us deeply and powerfully from 2 Corinthians 4 and 5 about the authentic and awesome ministry that Jesus gives us. Melvin is the Senior Minister of St John Newland, Hull. What a privilege to listen to his prophetic insight as he engaged with the current state of our culture! He also warmed our hearts and increased our gospel courage as he focused on the ministry Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones conducted whilst he served as a Pastor in Sandfields, Wales.

Melvin Tinker

In addition to our guest speakers, Matt Thompson, 's Strengthening Director, spoke convincingly about how we can grow stronger churches. Moreover, I spoke about how we can grow in prayer. We keenly feel our weakness in this area and long for God to increase our desire to pray.

Our new Operations Manager, Jo Bull, was able to attend this conference. We are so grateful to God for Jo’s godly character, her enthusiasm for gospel mission, and her many skills. She will have a vital role in ensuring that we grow in healthy ways.

Lee and Jo 2019Anglican doctrine places local churches at the frontline of gospel ministry. leaders were excited to gather for this short period of spiritual refreshment. However, we thank God that he has now scattered us into our local churches, so that, together with all the saints, we may play our part in sharing the great news that Jesus has died for our sins and is risen again. Do pray that by our next conference there would be many more members of God’s Kingdom as a result of our gospel labours.
